Top 10 Songs to Strut/Shower/Dance To

This week, I gave up trying to be funny, mostly because I was out of ideas and also because I have been rather preoccupied nursing my wounded pride and tail-bone after eating it on the stairs on the way to my graduation ceremony. At any rate, in lieu of my usual “hilariousness” (term used loosely) I’m posting my top 11 (shut up, its my blog and I’ll cheat on the format if I want to) songs to strut/shower/dance to. Some of these songs I’m a bit guiltier about than others, but they all get the job done. Mostly, I like to crank them in the morning when I’m getting ready for work and no one is home to watch me move my body in an awkward manner and to hear me sing really really loudly and equally as terribly. Music can be simultaneously highly personal and utterly communal, and I think that’s one of the things I love most about it. This playlist is obvious a tiny fragment of what I listen to, but I wanted to share in the hopes that some of the songs that make me feel confident and amazing and alive maybe do the same for other people. What’s on your top 10?

1. Midnight City by M83

2. I Want You by Savage Garden

3. Fuck You by Cee Lo Green
